   Tioman ATV

When I first set foot on Tioman, I was eager to explore more than just its beaches and snorkeling spots. As I'm from the more rugged part of California, I was on the lookout for something that offered a bit more adrenaline, something more high-octane than just relaxing on the beach. And that's when I stumbled upon ATV this rental. I heard the island had a few dedicated zones for ATV moto-cross and I knew right off the bat that I had to give this a shot.

Great Company, Powerful Quad
I found a company that offered guided ATV tours and after a quick safety briefing, I was ready to go. The ATV itself was a beast—rugged, powerful, and perfect for tearing through the island's terrain. In fact, as soon as I revved the engine, I could feel the excitement building. Seriously, the thing growled like a giant dragon! Impressive.

A while later, the guide led us out onto a trail that started off fairly tame, but within a few turns, we were deep into the jungle, navigating narrow paths, with thick tropical foliage zooming by either side. What a rush!

The jungle trails were a mix of mud, rocks and roots, but the ATV ate it all up all without much of a problem. I was actually quite surprised by how well the machines could navigate the rough terrain. At one point, we came across a steep incline that looked almost impossible to climb, but the quad roared up it comfortably and I hadn't even maxed it out. I mean, wow, this stretch alone was such a heart-pounding moment. I never knew just how much fun ATV riding could be.

Indelible Landscapes
One of the other things that struck me about this ATV outing was how immersive it was. Tioman's environment is really diverse and the ATV allowed us to explore parts that I probably wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. I mean, one minute we rode through a dense jungle, the next moment we're blasting along a dirt track and then, out of nowhere, we burst out onto a wide-open beach, the sound of the sea in the background. Unreal!

The transition from the enclosed forest to the open expanse of the beach was breathtaking. But riding along the shoreline with the wind blowing full-on and the sea spray flying was another one of the excursion's highlight for sure. We just had to take a moment to stop and just take it all in—this was the exact kind of experience I'd come to Tioman for.

But the awesome trek didn't stop there. Our guide took us to a few more spots that were off the beaten path, including a hidden waterfall that looked like something out of a Tarzan movie or something. And even though the trail to the waterfall was pretty challenging, with lots of twists and turns, the payoff was way worth it. We parked the ATVs and just strolled the last quarter mile or so to the waterfall, where we took a break and enjoyed the sheer beauty of the spot. Selfie time!!

Unique Perspective
If you're headed for Tioman and you're looking for something that goes beyond the typical beach fun and games, ATV riding should definitely be on your bucket list. It's an incredible way to see the island, a perspective unlike any other and it gets the adrenaline pumping. Plus also, it's an activity that offers something for everyone, whether you're an experienced rider or a complete novice. The guide is always there to keep proceedings on the straight and narrow, so to speak.

Oh, and in terms of value for money, the ATV tour was worth it too. The whole ride lasted a few hours and took us to some of the most remote parts of that end of the island. Plus, the company I went with offered great service, including a helmet, goggles, gloves and even a cold drink.

Overall, I've got to say that my Tioman ATV expedition was one of the highlights of the holiday. It was the perfect mix of excitement, raw natural beauty and a bit of a workout as well. Why? Well, you do need some core strength to make sure the machine doesn't run away from you.

So yeah, whether you're traveling solo, with friends, or as a family, I can't recommend this ATV excursion enough. Trust me, not only is it unlike anything you'll do while you're there, but it's also an awesome way to get to know a side of Tioman that will elude most visitors. But frankly, for me, it's ATV all the way!
